BabeRoe:

This ship is my OTP. I adore them. I really enjoy the dynamic between them and how they tend to be represented as balancing one another out. I especially love works that engage with Babe’s South Philly sense of humor and Gene’s Cajun ancestry. 

While I normally really love BabeRoe hurt/comfort and angst, I would like the boys to get a break in this fic. So, perhaps something a bit more happy here. The fic doesn’t necessarily have to be fluff and light-hearted, but maybe something that avoids the traumas of war and instead explores a happy moment, a break in the fight, their first time, post-war life, etc. Honestly, anything with these two will make me so happy! 

George Luz/Joe Toye:

I have lots of love for these two. The grumpy/sunshine dynamic that is George Luz/Joe Toye makes me so happy.

There are loads of George/Joe modern AUs—which are lovely!!—but perhaps a different historical AU would be a fun way to explore their dynamic and relationship. For this fic, I would really love something along the lines of a 1920s Gangster AU. I think that would really suit Joe and his brass knuckles. Maybe George and Joe are from rival gangs/families, enemies to lovers style?  

I also love all of the fics that acknowledge how Luz is often ‘the entertainer’ and how he sometimes sacrifices his own mental health to ‘perform’ for others—but he doesn’t have to do that for Joe, who can accept him at his worse. So, another option might be to explore a reversal of that trope. For this fic, perhaps an exploration of how Joe is always the tough guy, but he can be soft and vulnerable for George? 

Bill Guarnere & Babe Heffron:

The way that Bill takes Babe under his wing is one of my favorite bits of the show. He really drags Heffron from the rank of replacement into the Toccoa family. Bill is one of my favorite characters, and his Big Brother act endears him to me so much. I really love how he is such a caring and mothering figure, but he’s not gentle about it—he’s too loud and too rough, and the tough love ‘I bully cause I care’ routine is perfection. So, I would love a fic that explores Bill’s and Babe’s found family relationship. 

Maybe a fic from Babe’s perspective about how Bill’s mothering him, or from an outsider POV that watches the relationship blossom? This could also be cool as a post-war fic that explores how their friendship continued back in Philly. I’m also very happy with others from the Philly/Pittsburgh crew being roped in, like Joe Toye and Ralph Spina, into one big found family. Really anything about these two and their brotherly relationship will make me so happy!
